ENEMY IN THE MIRROR is the story of Camilo, a young man whose life is in chaos, who silences pain, guilt, contradictions and who in the end, like everyone else, deserves the opportunity to rebuild his life. In the friction between individual freedoms, I found the genesis of the story: a young man who moved by loneliness, enters a religious cult and faces all sorts of contradictions and moral conflicts. While the church is a place that welcomes and provides comfort, it is also a place that separates and isolates anyone who is outside the rules.
The film is defined by the contrasts between its visual and sound tempos. A static camera and a balanced photographic composition are challenged by a sudden movement that offers a glimpse into the emotional instability of the character. Likewise, the raging chords of hard rock and metal disturb the slow, incidental, and diegetic sounds.
