This film stems from my need to reflect on the atmosphere of fear and insecurity that has marked everyday life in my country and the intimate consequences this generates: moral confusion, loss of innocence, and the difficulty of distinguishing between good and evil. Although I initially wanted to talk about militarization and structural violence, I realized that my real interest lay in observing how these realities affect those who are most vulnerable. That is why I decided to tell the story from the perspective of a girl and an older woman, whose relationship—inspired by that of my mother and grandmother—becomes the heart of the story. Rather than showing violence explicitly, I was interested in portraying how fear transforms everyday life and, at the same time, how humanity, care, and kindness persist even in the most hostile contexts.
