Since 2023, the independent puppet troupe “Con la Mano Arriba” has struggled to find its place within the hierarchy of the Barranquilla Carnival. Led by director Eduardo Lora Cueto, the group faces systemic challenges and limited institutional support. The documentary focuses on a critical turning point during a parade at Carrera 44, where a technical sound failure left the collective exposed to chaos and uncertainty. Through intimate interviews and observational footage, the film explores how the group processes vulnerability with humor and a conscious decision to persist. It is a story about the resilience and artistic passion required to keep a puppet’s head held high against all odds.
