Daenschel Matthias
was born in Mannheim in 1970. He began his artistic career
with an apprenticeship as a theater painter at the Schaubühne in Berlin. After three years
as a theater painter at the Vienna State Opera, he studied animation at the HFF in
Potsdam.
For 25 years he has been working as a freelance animator and filmmaker for cinema and
TV productions, for advertising and explanatory films, as well as for theater, music and
opera productions. His award-winning short films are shown at festivals around the world.
